Celestron UHC/LPR Filter - 94124

Celestron UHC/LPR Filter - 94124
  • The multi-layer dielectric coatings are plasma assisted and Ionbeam hardened using the latest technology for durability and resistance to scratching.
  • Improved transmission translates to maximum image brightness and contrast. Users of smaller, 4"-11" telescopes will especially appreciate the high efficiency, and larger scope users will love the rich star fields and detailed subtle nebular shadings that are left intact.
  • The high transmission, sharp cutoffs, and more moderate 60nm passband of the UHC/LPR filter retains a more natural view, yet significantly boosts overall contrast. Imagers will appreciate the broader bandpass and inclusion of an extremely efficient H-Alpha passband (656nm)

Televue Sol-Searcher Solar Finder

Televue Sol-Searcher Solar Finder

Televue Sol-Searcher Solar Finder

Sol-Searcher is the safe and easy way to find the Sun. It is absolutely safe since you don't look through Sol-Searcher, you look at it. The aperture acts as a "pinhole" which projects an image of the Sun on to the 1/4" translucent "screen." This screen can be viewed from either side. Simply move your scope until the Sun's image is centered on the screen and the Sun will be in the eyepiece's field of view. The Sol-Searcher attaches to the mount ring slot of every Tele Vue telescope (or to the rear cell slot in the Tele Vue Ranger). For use with telescopes other than Tele Vue, mount the Sol-Searcher using #10-32 screws, or if necessary, attach with Velcro (not supplied). Sol Searcher can also be made into a quick-release accessory when mounted on QRD-1006 (Dovetail) used with QRB-1002 (Quick-release bracket)

Orion 5-Position 1.25" Filter Wheel Reviews

Orion 5-Position 1.25" Filter Wheel

Orion 5-Position 1.25
  • Handy and versatile wheel holds up to five 1.25" filters for visual and/or imaging use
  • A huge time-saver for filtered planetary and lunar observation using different color filters, or for tri-color astrophotography pursuits
  • Holds up to five 1.25" filters, or you can leave one space blank for unfiltered viewing - requires additional 20mm focus travel
  • Requires additional 20mm of focus travel - not recommended for use with Dobsonian reflectors
  • Protects installed eyepiece or astrophotography filters from dust, dirt, and impact, and keeps them ready for action

The Orion 5-Position 1.25" Filter Wheel is a wonderfully efficient way to dial-in the telescope filter you want to use for observing or astrophotography. With the affordable 5-Position Filter Wheel, you can change filters without removing your telescope eyepiece or astrophotography camera. Just rotate the wheel with light finger pressure and the selected filter clicks into place. Presto! Planetary observers can switch among several color eyepiece filters with the 5-Position Filter Wheel in order to get the most detail out of observations of our solar system neighbors through a telescope. Deep-sky object aficionados can compare views in "A/B" fashion through broadband and narrowband filters, or use the filter wheel to enhance views using O-III or H-beta filters. Astrophotographers can use the 5-Position 1.25" Filter Wheel to shoot sequentially and without interruption through the different telescope filters required for tri-color, RGB and LRGB imaging - all "locked and loaded" in prominently numbered threaded wells. Holds up to five Orion 1.25" eyepiece and/or imaging filters, or you can leave one position empty for an unfiltered viewing comparison. The rugged anodized aluminum and composite rubber housing protects installed filters from dirt, moisture, and impact better than sliding filter tray designs. Keep your five favorite filters installed to keep them clean and ready for action!

Celestron 93624 Narrowband Oxygen III 2 Filter Reviews

Celestron 93624 Narrowband Oxygen III 2 Filter

Celestron 93624 Narrowband Oxygen III 2 Filter
  • For viewing many common nebulas
  • Reduces glare and light scattering
  • Increases contrast through selective filtration
  • Made of high quality, solid plane parallel glass with excellent homogeneity
  • Anti-reflection coated to prevent glaring and ghosting

Celestron Oxygen-III Narrowband Filter - 2in 93624The Celestron 93624 Narrowband Oxygen III 2-inch filter is a remarkable advance for the serious visual observer of emission nebulae. One of the biggest advantages of narrowband filters is that by passing only the light emitted by nebulae, light from artificial sources like street lights is blocked. This allows you to take detailed exposures of nebulas from a suburban location that can rival shots from much darker sites. The Celestron 93624 is made of high quality, solid plane parallel glass.

The Imaging Source DFK 21AU618.AS Color USB Astronomy Camera with IR Cut Filter, 640x480 Pixel Resolution, C/CS Mount Reviews

The Imaging Source DFK 21AU618.AS Color USB Astronomy Camera with IR Cut Filter, 640x480 Pixel Resolution, C/CS Mount

The Imaging Source DFK 21AU618.AS Color USB Astronomy Camera with IR Cut Filter, 640x480 Pixel Resolution, C/CS Mount
  • Color Interpolation: For visualization applications, it does not make sense to view the RAW image stream from the CCD chip. It must be interpolated, before it may be viewed or saved in common formats. IC Capture.AS perform color interpolation, thus reducing the load on the DFK 21AU618.AS's processor
  • IR Cut Filter As Standard: Unlike the human eye, CCD chips are sensitive to near infrared light (wavelengths over 700 nm). The DFK 21AU618.AS ships with an IR cut filter as standard and is thus suited to applications in which these wavelengths would lead to interference or undesirable results
  • High Speed Data Transfer Via USB: In order to transfer the vast amount of data created by the stream of uncompressed and lossless color images to the host PC, you need a very high speed bus. Hence, the DFK 21AU618.AS is fitted with a fast USB connector

The Imaging Source DFK 21AU618.AS Color USB Astronomy Camera is ideally suited to color astrophotography, in which very fast image sequences should be captured. The camera ships with IC Capture.AS, a comprehensive software package with which you can capture lossless and uncompressed images sequences and write them to disk as AVI files, or as a series of singular bitmaps. The DFK 21AU618.AS ships with the color Sony ICX618AQA progressive scan CCD chip. With its 1/4" format, the CCD chip produces a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Even at very long exposure times - up to 60 minutes exposure are possible - noise is minimal. Thanks to this extremely high quality, the Sony ICX618AQA CCD chip is also often used in other scientific, industrial and medical image processing applications.

2" Orion 13% Transmission Moon Filter

2" Orion 13% Transmission Moon Filter

2
  • Helps reduce the bright glare of the Moon so you can see more lunar detail and surface features with your telescope
  • 2" Moon filter with metal filter cell construction threads directly into the barrel of a 2" telescope eyepiece
  • Especially useful for large aperture telescopes through which the bright Moon surface can be overwhelming
  • Transmits just 13% of the incoming light to your eye, enhancing your view
  • Neutral filter will not alter the natural color of the Moon in your views

The Moon's disk, even at partial phases, is intensely bright with reflected sunlight. The glare washes out most of the craters, rilles, and other surface details from view. Our Moon Filter reduces the glare, allowing transmission of only 13% of the reflected light. Not only will you see more surface features, but you can study them in greater comfort. The filter reduces irradiation, which is the distortion at the boundary between light and dark areas, such as along the lunar terminator. The Orion Moon Filter is especially useful to owners of large-aperture scopes, in which the Moon's brightness can be overwhelming. It uniformly reduces light over the entire visible spectrum. Screws into threaded eyepiece barrel.
