What's a good digital camera for photography?

Question by bananasarecool123: What's a good digital camera for photography?
I want a simple digital camera that has good enough quality for photography. I don't want those huge professional cameras with the telephoto lenses - I want something I can keep in my pocket. I also want it to have at least 9 or 10 mega pixels. Does anyone know of a camera like this, that isn't too expensive?

I won't suggest a make and model, but you should consider a DSLR and a good macro lens, maybe a ring light too. The lens is really the defining factor here. It'll cost you, but it will definitely take you to the next level.

What is the best type of photography camera?

Question by music x love: What is the best type of photography camera?
I really like taking photos. I'm also actually good at it. I only have a digital camera but I want to get an actual photography camera. I don't know which type to get. Olympus? Canon? Please help me and give me a link to a site where you can buy the camera (sensible price please). Thank you!

Best answer:

Answer by 4x5"
"Film" not "Photography" camera.

The best type is Large Format view cameras.

Roll film is popular too. Any major brand SLR camera will do fine. I like Nikon SLRs because you have access to a legacy of lenses that goes back decades.

Nikon N90s, Nikon FG, and Nikon F3HP are good choices.

What is the best photography camera going?

Question by Intimate Stranger: What is the best photography camera going?
I need one for my photography class. At the moment I have a pink colored sony camera, and it blurrs very easily (not good in the dark), and I want a professional, long lasting camera. I am looking for a camera that takes primarily good modeling shots, followed by nature, and great in the dark, not blurry easily AND durable.

I don't have any knowledge with cameras and the qualities of each.
Could you help me out? Thank you.

Answer by Anna Christine
I have a Nikon D500 which I am absolutely in love with. I don't have any bad feedback about it and neither did ANY of the reviews that I read. It is also very decently priced, I got it for about $ 750 with the body, a case, and two lenses. I would DEFINITELY recommend this camera it's just amazing. With some cameras you really have to try to get a great picture, with the Nikon D5000, it just does the work for you.

Hope that helps!

What is the best camera for photography?

Question by Danielle: What is the best camera for photography?
I'm starting college for photography and they do not supply you with a camera just the equipment like flash drives, messenger bag, blower brush and things like that. I wanted to know what camera would be the best to get please help!

Best answer:

Answer by deep blue2
It would be best to talk to your college tutor. Some require bridge cameras, some require DSLR's and if you are doing film photography, you may need a 35mm film SLR.

What is a good camera to use for photography?

Question by Joshua: What is a good camera to use for photography?
I would love to start taking pictures of nature. I have never done photography though and i have no knowledge of cameras. What is a great camera to use when starting photography?

Best answer:

Answer by beanie
Look for a "bridge camera" with a focal lenth of 24-150 give or take. You want an optical zoom and disregard digital zoom. Nikon, Sony, Olympus and Canon make very good quality equipment. Also, don't worry about mega-pixels. All you need is about 6 or so for the vast majority of the photos you take, unless you are making a 20"x30" print.

What is the best photography camera to buy?

Question by Shelly: What is the best photography camera to buy?
Im 15 and i just recently got into photography and im pretty sure thats what i want to do for the rest of my life. . If your a photographer whay kind of camera do you have and can you give me any tips on becoming a photographer, btw i want to be a fashion photographer but i dont mind taking pictures of other things too. But anyway back to the original question, whats the best photography camera to buy (i dont care about the price i can pay for it)

Best answer:

Answer by fhotoace
One that is fully adjustable like a 35 mm SLR or a dSLR.

At present the camera with the most bang for the buck is the Nikon D3200. Its sensor outperforms many of the older full frame dSLR;s and costs less than $ 700 with a lens.

The lens you will want to buy to shoot fashion will be the 24-70 mm f/2.8

That camera and lens will get you started learning to use a fully adjustable camera.

To shoot fashion, you will want to spend a lot of time looking at the way fashion photographers light and compose their models. Model Mayhem and One Model Place are too good resources for doing that. What you can do for practice is use your friends. Practice applying makeup and using dramatic lighting.

If you are able to take a class in photography at your school or as a workshop/seminar, you will quickly learn how to use your camera without having to think much about it when setting the proper exposure. As a fashion photographer you will want to be spending your time directing your models into amazing poses and composing them just right in the lighting you have or have set up.

Good luck on your adventure with a camera

what type of camera should I use to do stop motion photography?

Question by Matthew Bennett: what type of camera should I use to do stop motion photography?
I really enjoy doing stop motion photography but I just learned that the camera I am using isn't meant for stop motion. I also heard that the camera is only good for a certain amount of clicks. So instead of the camera I have right now what camera should I use?

Best answer:

Answer by fhotoace
What are you saying when you say a camera is only good for a certain amount of clicks. Are you talking about shutter cycles? Are you talking about how many shots you can take before the camera buffer fills and you have to wait until those images write to the memory card?

What exactly do you mean by "stop motion"

What that could mean is freezing the action when shooting sports. That just takes a high shutter speed, 1/500th or faster

What it could also mean is something called time-lapse photography, were incremental shots are taken over a specific period of time and then later compiled and played back as a video

What do YOU mean by "stop action" and tell us more about your number of clicks on a camera.

One of my cameras has over 200,000 shutter cycles on it and it is working just fine

The camera I use when shooting time lapse is an old Nikon D200. I can set it up on a tripod, set the exposure manually and use an AC adapter to power it as long as necessary or until I fill the memory card

What is the best recommended camera for a beginner in photography that is somewhat cheap?

Question by katy.kina: What is the best recommended camera for a beginner in photography that is somewhat cheap?
camera for photography?

Best answer:

Answer by Heather
Well, I would recommend a Nikon if you're serious about photography, meaning if you're looking for a career in photography or if it's in your budget.
Nikon D40's are the cheapest Nikon DSLR's they make, and they're relatively easy to use.
If you want a digital camera I would go for a cannon, those are very good digital cameras.

I hope this has helped you.
