I am considering in buying a digital camera and I really want a good one that is sweatproof, waterproof, has really god zooming.... etc etc. So what exactly should someone be looking for in a camera? kodak though isnt for those im a professional and i want to make art kind of deals i mean you could but it wouldnt turn out as well as a nikon

I think I want a camera with a rechargeable battery made specifically for the camera, it sounds like the best option.

First, don't worry about how many megapixels it has. That stat is over rated. You will most likely be viewing it on a computer screen. I have a 10 year old camera that is 3.34 megapixels, and I have yet to see any real difference in quality against a 10-12 megapixel one. Any camera you buy now will have more than enough so don't concern yourself there.

It really comes down to price and overall ease of use. While there are many good brands out there, I personally like Nikon. Long established with high quality, easy to use and good prices.

Consider whether you want to have to recharge a battery pack (which is cheaper in the long run) or buy AA batteries (which is more convienent especially if the battery pack is drained).

Some cameras will have more features than others, ask yourself if you really need or would use those features.

Nikon is my advice, but there are many other good choices.

It depends on how familiar you are with digital cameras. If yhou are doing alot of close work and need the zoom feature. You will pay a bit more. If you are just looking for a camera for everyday photography, with a few extra's, it's not unreasonable to pay between 2-3 hundred for a decent camera. Canon and Nikon make some awesome cameras. Also, Sony has come out with a couple of decent ones recently.

Your ideal camera is going to depend on whether you want a small point and shoot or a big DSLR camera. Either way I'd recommend Canon, I find their products to be very well-built and intuitive.

I won't suggest a make and model, but you should consider a DSLR and a good macro lens, maybe a ring light too. The lens is really the defining factor here. It'll cost you, but it will definitely take you to the next level.

I would suggest you go to the amazon.com web sit and enter in the search line: digital cameras under $ 300.00
Then compare features: narrow your choices down to 3 cameras. THEN re ask this question with I like these 3 cameras, which is the best photographically (or you could list your favorite thing you like to photograph).
