I really like taking photos. I'm also actually good at it. I only have a digital camera but I want to get an actual photography camera. I don't know which type to get. Olympus? Canon? Please help me and give me a link to a site where you can buy the camera (sensible price please). Thank you!

"Film" not "Photography" camera.

The best type is Large Format view cameras.

Roll film is popular too. Any major brand SLR camera will do fine. I like Nikon SLRs because you have access to a legacy of lenses that goes back decades.

Nikon N90s, Nikon FG, and Nikon F3HP are good choices.

You want something "more complex detailed" - doesn't that mean a BETTER camera than what you already have?
As usual, you get what you paid for.

You can find a tiny little P&S for under $ 100, but you don't get any manual controls with it, so you'll never really be able to learn much about photography with it.

You need to work out your priorities first - super cheap or useful?

The Sony Ericcson K790a is really good! Cnet.com rates it as one of the best camera phones around! It has a 5.2 megapixels, and it looks nice too. The Sony Ericcson K850i is cool too. It has 5.O megapixels.

CNET also says the Nokia N95, Motorola Razr V2, Samsung SGH- G800 (like you said), and The SamsungSCH- U900, or the FlipShot, is really good too. The screen flips all the way around, and it's a flip phone, which makes it so unique. I only worry if the entire top part of the flip phone may be weak as its only on one "joint," so to speak.

I use CNET.com all the time to check out phones before I buy them. They have like videos for you to watch, and they rate all the phones too. The editors are really cool, too.

if you have a DVC player. I have 2. one is a Sony walkman that plays miniDV and the other is a Sony grey market DVC/SVHS combo, both have DV output. They are hard to come by outside of the industrial market, you might try ebay, but honestly, miniDV is so inexpensive now, just get another camera.

Compact cameras are not capable of time exposure and that's what you're after, like this.

To do this I had to have the shutter open for 8 seconds. Only a bridge camera or an SLR can give you that control.

I live in Tokyo and walking all day with a bag to house such a big camera can be cumbersome and tiring so I usually leave it at home. All cameras have a completely auto setting which makes them easy to use. The thing which gives your T3 such high quality pictures are the large sensor and the high quality lens. If you go too small then you will end up with a much smaller sensor, which will reduce picture quality.

You could look at something like the Sony RX-100, which is a fairly large compact camera with a reasonably large sensor, but which should be quite a lot smaller and lighter than your T3. That is getting very good reviews at the moment.

It is very hard to digitally reproduce realistic natural colours, lighting conditions and so on, so don't expect too much.

Canon make a fine range of digital cameras, but your best bet is to go along to your local camera shop and try some out.

Using ONLY an automatic digital camera, what's the best way of taking pictures of astrological stuff? No telescopes or zoom lens beyond 135mm. Without a motor drive to follow the proper motion of the stars you won't get much more than streaks for the stars (star trails). Even so, you may have to push up the sensitivity of the CCD which will mean more noise. You can shoot the moon but you'll get a small image that you'll have to edit to a larger size. By the way, I think you mean astronomical and not astrological stuff.

All Pentax DSLRs can use any pentax lens EVER made.

Also the IS thing the guy below mentioned. However, keep in mind that old Pentax lenses were made for 35mm SLRs, the equivalent to full frame cameras today. Pentax doesn't have full frame cameras yet, so images'll be cropped.

I need one for my photography class. At the moment I have a pink colored sony camera, and it blurrs very easily (not good in the dark), and I want a professional, long lasting camera. I am looking for a camera that takes primarily good modeling shots, followed by nature, and great in the dark, not blurry easily AND durable.

I don't have any knowledge with cameras and the qualities of each.

I have a Nikon D500 which I am absolutely in love with. I don't have any bad feedback about it and neither did ANY of the reviews that I read. It is also very decently priced, I got it for about $ 750 with the body, a case, and two lenses. I would DEFINITELY recommend this camera it's just amazing. With some cameras you really have to try to get a great picture, with the Nikon D5000, it just does the work for you.

It really depends on two things 1) where you sit, and 2) is it dark in the location.

However, basically all cameras will be good. You'll just need to set some settings such as speed and flash/lighting. If you have a zoom lens, and you sit way back - use that.

The term ISO, in photography, refers to the sensitivity to light. Historically it was called ASA.

The Samsung NV20 is a fine P&S camera and you should enjoy it as you play with your friends and family, however by definition, a photographer uses adjustable cameras for complete control of the resulting images.

Buying a fully automatic P&S camera, decidedly places you into a camera "user" category, rather than as a photographer.

That said, much creativity can come from a P&S camera, but eventually the frustration of missed shots due to design restrictions, shutter lag, being stuck with one lens, the tiny sensor and red-eye issues will eventually cause you to move toward an entry level DSLR and a passion for learning how to control such a camera.

I have an Olympus FE-320 and it works beautifully. Its super light, really small & takes great pictures. I'd say its much more affordable compared to the Kodak's and Nikkon's.
