How do you convert a regular digital camera into a waterproof camera?

Question by Nicole: How do you convert a regular digital camera into a waterproof camera?
Do you have to buy an underwater camera/video housing?

You have to buy something specifically tailored to waterproof your camera. Like buying a coat. "Convert" is a very poor choice of words, "how do you make your camera waterproof"... you can't convert it, it will always be a non-waterproof camera. O_o

  1. I have attached a link to a company who sells underwater housings for cameras and other photographic devices. They have been around for a long time.

  2. You need a case or bag.

There are specialist cases made for many cameras that enable you to go deep...but they're incredibly expensive.
If you only want to go down to 30' or so then there are cases that fit all small cameras...

Add your camera make and model to the search to get a more precise match.
