Best? That's relative. If you're serious about this you could spend 3 large or more for a really good video camera. If you're not that serious there's lots of video cameras out there in the $ 300 range.

The best video cameras are HD camcorders, at least for us non-professionals. The Sony HDR-TD20V is highly regarded.
