Question by : How does the fujifilm S3200 Digital Camera compare to the nikon D3100 camera?
Which is better? Which camera takes better picture quality..especially potraits of people .

Depends who is using the camera.

The larger sensor of the DSLR should at least help with overall IQ but ultimately how good the portrait looks depends on the person pressing the shutter.

I wouldn't generally compare a bridge/compact camera to a 'proper' DSLR with decent lens though.

  1. If you ask picture takers who are fond of using point-and-shoot cameras, the S3200 would be better due to its smaller size. If you ask photographers who are familiar with the principles of photography, the D3100 is by far better. Picture quality will depend on you whatever camera you use. Any can be used to take portraits as long as you know exactly what you're doing.
