What Is The Best Ultracompact Digital Camera?

Question by Killa Jeffries: What Is The Best Ultracompact Digital Camera?
So i dont know much about cameras so i decided to ask for your help. I've been researching many cameras but still have no idea which camera to buy. The two i've looked at the most are Nikon Coolpix S550 or Cannon Powershot SD790 IS or Cannon Powershot SD1100. The main thing i want is a camera that has amazing picture quality. Also price is not an issue for the most part. What do you suggest?

Those are all good choices. What do you want? I found a cool camera, the Coolpix, but I went through this other site, myproductadvisor, and it really helped me figure out what I wanted.

  1. Since price is not much of an issue I'd go with the 10mp Elph that you listed - Powershot Sd790 IS. First of all, more megapixels means you can blow up larger images without sacrificing image quality. The sd790 and the Coolpix both have 10mp, while the sd1100 only has 8. I personally have heard great things about the Powershot and its image quality. The Coolpix is difficult to take pictures with as far as image stability. The 2 Canons you listed probably have a better image stabilizer. The bad thing about Canons is all their compact consumer cameras have 3x optical zoom, while Nikon Coolpix has a 5x optical zoom which is impressive for such a small camera. In my personal experience, the Coolpix camera has a bit of a problem focusing and adjusting under low light but the image quality is fantastic when you're taking pictures outdoors. Since you weren't very specific when describing what you want in an image, I suggest viewing sample pictures on the official Canon website for the Canons and the official Nikon website for the Nikons. Good luck!
